Ford will add iron phosphate battery options for Mustang Mach-E and F-150 Lightning

If I read that right Ford will only use the new battery on sr battery's because they are lower Entergy but are cheaper to make, lighter and last longer

LiFePO has been the preferred chemistry for lithium based off-grid use. Interesting to see if the move is also motivated by Ford's V2X considerations. Especially since the Lightning is the first serious move into V2H/V2L. Too bad this move is not V2X compliant. Maybe later?

I would like to have a LiFePo Lightning pro SR. LiFePo batteries last a lot more cycles than Li-ion. They may be heavier so the pro may lose some payload, but even if it loses 200lbs it is still more than 2,000.
