Extremely popular and well respected tech YouTuber spent some exclusive time with the F-150 Lightning and says the 300 mile range on the extended battery was tested with 1000 lbs of cargo in the back. In his demo of the vehicle, the car displayed 367 miles of range at 80%.

Ok, I wish Ford had mentioned this at the reveal. For ICE people I’m sure this makes sense but for ev people who are used to over-inflated epa ratings we were already subtracting 40% from the range for hauling…Ford has already calculated that in!

I saw that when he scaled it to 100%, the actual range could be around 460 miles, which eases my nerves about the range.

Wow, that's a game changer if the Lightning can achieve over 450+ miles unloaded!

I think Ford was being very conservative with their initial numbers and I think the real world range numbers will be much better once people start receiving their trucks.
