Hey all!

My name is Sean McLaughlin, I am the on of the EV Specialists here at Serramonte Ford. Some of you may know me from the Focus RS, Bronco, or Maverick forums.

I'm here to help answer questions relating to the Lightning. I have about 10 years experience with Ford here at this store, so I can offer some insight into the dealer side of things. For those of you who have orders with us, feel free to PM me here, or you can reach out to me at the store, direct line is 650-301-7084, or email at [email protected]

I always get asked, so I'll put it here: We are not marking up any Reservation with our store that takes delivery of their order.

We're super juiced for this truck, no pun intended!

I read that Ford had sold 40,000 Lightning truck to employees and dealers before they offered it to the public and now they are saying they can only make 40k the first year. So where does that leave use.

Ok is it not true they sold 40k to dealer and employees or is it not true they can only make 40k the first year
Not true that 40k were sold, not true that they can only make 40k. Ford has not publicly announced production capacity or targets. Like all information on the internet, you should check any article for cited sources and then verify that information with another source of your own. Please refrain from posting rumor or speculation, as it leads to poor information being circulated and that helps no one.

Ford regularly announces things on media.ford.com.

I was just posting what all the other people have been posting if you would go back and read the post THEY SAID fORD DOES NOT HAVE THE CHIPS THEY DON'T HAVE THE BATTERY THEY CAN'T GET THE PARTS my caps button was on. But if you have all the answers tell us we are looking all over to find the answer and share it with others. That is what this site is all about I though.

Think about that logically. Who is saying Ford doesn't have the chips and batteries? Are they credible, or are they somebody on the internet that "heard something".

We do know that most industries are having supply chain issues, but speculating on what Ford does or doesn't have is not constructive. I'm here to help answer questions about the Lightning, the ordering process, and questions about EVs. I don't have high level insight into supply chain management, supplier contracts, and parts availability beyond what Ford shares with us as dealers. Frankly, I wouldn't expect anyone here on the forum to have that information either.

Ford has already given approximate timelines for Lightning. Ordering details, pricing, and order bank opening is in the Fall. First deliveries are estimated to be Spring 2022. If those deadlines come and go with no information from Ford, I'll be surprised. As I said in the previous post, be sure to ask for sources, and verify that information.

Hi Sean, glad you're on the forum. My big question concerns ADMs. All kinds of different info on them and I have personal experience from my dealer with my Mach-E. Once the order banks open and we price out our Lightnings can the dealer mark our order up with their ADM? I had a reservation for a MME-GT and when Ford announced the order date for the GT I called the dealer GM and asked if they were going to add ADM on it. He said 5k and I told him to eat s**t and canceled my order. Thanks for any info on this hot topic.

Up to individual dealer's discretion, there is no restriction to adding ADM to orders.

Serramonte Ford is not adding ADM to customer orders.

Sean can you answer my question. I am interested in the XLT, I want to add the lightebar to the tailgate. What I've read and what I see is the tailgate being used on the XLT is the same design as was used on the 2021 XLT model,so I would like to swap out the tailgate and install the one there using on the Lariat or the Platinum that would give me the lightbar. I would like a factory installation. What is the procedure to have this done, with a factory installation it would be done correctly.

As far as we know, they're different and the taillights are different as well. Ford won't officially support programming, if required, of the lariat/platinum tailgate. The lariat/Platinum tailgate has a subtle curve where the xlts reverse lights are.

Can you answer this question for me. When ford stamps the sheet mtl. To except the taillights, are you telling me that the opening that excepts the taillights is different on the XLT than it is on the Lariat and the Platinum. I would expect them to all be the same. And I would think the design of the taillights would be the same. I can't imagine ford would have two different stamping and two different design taillights.

That is what we've seen on the prototypes, yes. Different stamping for each of the two tailgates

I know the tailgates are different. My question is are openings in the fenders that except the taillights different. Or are they all the same.
They are likely the same mounts, but you would need the taillights and the tailgate. The taillights have to be programmed because they have BLIS integrated.

So would I be correct in saying the programming could be done?

If that is possible then I could have the XLT the way I want it. I don't know what the cost would be, but it would possibly involve ,swap out the taillights and tailgate.
